Chanti Porter is a graduate of the New Zealand School of Dance with solid training in ballet and contemporary. She worked with the Royal NZ Ballet before joining the NZ/Australian tour of Cats. Following this she worked as a freelance dance artist performing in fringe productions, outdoor opera events and several television and film projects including Xena, Warrior Princess and Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings.
While working as a camp counselor in the USA she assisted in staging a production of Guys & Dolls and since arriving in the UK Chanti has taught for the London Broncos Cheerdance Academy coaching children to performance standard and currently assists with the staging of the bi-annual Royal Bournemouth Hospital Staff Revue Show. Chanti holds Registered Teaching Status with the Royal Academy of Dance and is also a qualified Pilates Matwork Instructor in addition to teaching Zumba.
Chanti teaches on a freelance basis and her class styles range from ballet to burlesque, contemporary to can-can, musical theatre to mambo (a la ‘Dirty Dancing’), Grease, Chicago and Pole. She also choreographs wedding dances and bodybuilding routines. Based in the south-west of England, Chanti can regularly be found hosting Polestars Hen Parties on the golden coast of Bournemouth.
