Since 1711 Royal Ascot is not only known for its outstanding racing but for excitement, pageantry, fashion and style. It’s about the individual’s imaginative fabulous high fashion. The events last long in memory because it features high fashion, sumptuous cuisine and more which is so much more than the exhilarating racing action.
History Making Moments
History has shown that Royal Ascot is a proud history defining moments. The biggest sporting event on the globe may be making waves in Brazil but the ultimate platform for the world’s finest racehorses and jockeys kicked off today in its typical magnificent style, amid a flurry of hats and horses.
What would you wear to Royal Ascot?
Dressing accordingly is important for a day at the Royal Ascot because it’s an important part of the experience. You should have your extra-large hats and fascinators. High fashion hats are not always the case but just a statement hat that could be controversial. You could consider making your custom made fascinators and hats. See these photos from previous Royal Ascot race below to help race goers wear approximate hats for the event.
Brief history of Royal Ascot
Few sporting venues can match the rich heritage and history of Ascot Racecourse. Ascot has established itself as a national institution over the last 300 years; with the event becoming a centrepiece of the British social reoccurring history which has become the ultimate world stage for racehorses.
It all started in 1711, when Queen Anne first saw the potential for racecourse at Ascot and the first race meeting ever held at Ascot took place later that year, on Saturday 11th August. Ever since then the bond between the racecourse and royalty runs deep: as our prestigious Queen typically attends all five days, arriving by horse-drawn carriage from Windsor Castle.
