Meet our Nude Life Drawing ModelPosted by Hay Brunsdon on June 7 2017.
Meet our Nude Life Drawing Model Andrew.
He’s a Polestars favourite Nude Life Drawing Model and can be found posing most weekends in our Hen Party Life Drawing from our hen party ideas in London. He also happens to be a singer/songwriter and has recorded songs for The Teenage Cancer Trust, as well as posing for their Naked Calendar!
We decided to find our more about this worthwhile cause, and treat you lucky readers to a sneak preview too!
How long have been a nude life drawing model?
I have been modelling for about 10 years doing artistic nude type shoots as well as fashion modelling.

Favourite body part?
Best part of the job as a Nude Life Drawing Model?
It’s good fun and very rewarding putting a smile on the ladies faces, helping some discover hidden artistic talents.
Name a male model you respect?
Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson in Zoolander..a brilliant and funny send up of the male model world. I don’t think anyone should take modelling that seriously.
When you are not working as a Nude Life Drawing Model, what is your main/side gig?
I am a singer/songwriter and actor. I have appeared in ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean – On Stranger Tides’, ‘Dark Shadows’, and will soon feature in ‘Thor 2 – The Dark World’. I will soon be releasing an album and have recorded songs for the Specialized charity in aid of The Teenage Cancer Trust.
Do you prefer to be naked or clothed?
I think I look better naked, though I’ve always loved fashion and clothes.
Best thing about the job?
The best thing about being a songwriter is the joy of creativity, expressing feelings and thoughts you might not otherwise voice under normal circumstances. Also performing live to an audience is an exhilarating experience, it’s a real buzz when people genuinely connect to songs you have written.
Tell us more about the modelling and songwriting you do for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
I was first invited to record a song for the Specialized charity in aid of The Teenage Cancer Trust in 2011. The charity was set up by Paul Willo, and all proceeds go to the TCT. I was offered ‘Message To You Rudy’ (The Specials). I was delighted to be involved, and overjoyed to be offered ‘Message To You Rudy.. to record such a classic song that I had grown up listening to was amazing. The album was released in 2012 and raised £25,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust. The second Specialized album – ‘Beat Cancer’ was released in 2013, for which I was invited to record ‘The Tears Of A Clown’, originally sung by Smokey Robinson, and covered by Two-tone band The Beat. Again I was delighted to be offered such a great song, one of my all time favourites! The prospect of doing justice to the song was very daunting, but my band are great musicians and I managed to produce my best ever vocal performance with the help of Enrico Inna the studio engineer. The album is available now through the Specialized website.
The calendar project was the idea of Karen Le Cras and Paul Willo, founder of the Specialized charity. They thought it would be fun for the contributing artists of the albums to model for a nude calendar and raise more money for the charity. I offered my help as I have had a lot of modelling experience, and it’s for such a great cause. Gerard Mcnamara the photographer was fantastic and I felt very relaxed with him. We did the shoot on my rooftop, where I got my kit off, held onto my guitar and Gerard snapped away! It’s all very tasteful and I think the results are great. There is a possibility we may do a solo calendar with just my photos if we can get sponsorship, the photos were that good!
