If you love the idea of camping- huddled around a fire with your best friends, sharing stories under the stars while surrounded by the great British countryside- but memories of cramped tents, old sleeping bags and complete washouts prevent you from entertaining the idea, Glamping is just what you need.
We have all experienced camping to one degree or another. Whether it involved setting up camp in the back garden with your siblings and discovering half way through the night that various insects decided to join you, or a fully-fledged summer camping trip was once your parents' holiday of choice, you'll be pleased to know the world of camping has moved on alot. The concept of Glamping, glamourous or luxury camping, now means we can enjoy all the magic and adventure of traditional camping, with more than a touch of the relaxation and ease that we want from a weekend away.
On the Polestars glamping experience, you will learn to camp with style while creating some fantastic memories with your friends. The best part is, you'll be accompanied by two of our experienced instructors who'll teach you all you need to know. You'll spend 2 days, 1 night, out in the great outdoors with our expert campers who will guide you in the art of glamourous camping and take care of all of the hard stuff.
You'll arrive at the site on the first day at around lunch time to meet your expert camping guides and move in to your camp which we will have set up for you. Polestars will specially select one of our well facilitated campsites depending on your location, where accomodation options include yurts, tepees, bell tents and geostatic domes. Settle in to camp and get to know your fellow Hens with a spot of afternoon tea, then after a quick introduction, you'll have the chance to explore the area with a guided nature walk. You'll learn all about the plants and animals of the local area and maybe even forage for some wild food to enjoy later. You can take part in one of our camp activities like lantern-making or camp baking or use the weekend to really refresh and have a pampering session in the beauty of the outdoors, complete with face masks and massage oils. We will give you a class in making mouth-watering bush cocktails from your fresh ingredients, then you can leave it to us to prepare dinner on the camp fire while you enjoy the evening. We will also set up the sauna for you to sit back and take in the tranquility of your surroundings, before getting cosy around the fire, enjoying your freshly made drinks and sharing some stories of the Hen. Wake up in the morning to a delicious, warming breakfast, then choose from another of our camp activities. You could take part in an outdoor yoga session, energetic hula-hooping class or a popular campsite game. Alternatively, try some natural-jewellery making from the local resources or make your camping experience complete by learning how to make a fire!
Our Glamping weekend is perfect for hens who want a weekend away from the city and a great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other. Different locations and sites offer a whole range of different possibilities, so you can make your weekend as peaceful or action-packed as you wish. A member of our team will be glad to discuss your trip with you beforehand, so activities can be tailored to you as much as possible and if you have any of your own ideas we can try to incorporate these in to your break. This experience is available all year round, although obviously you'll be more comfortable during the warmer months and some activities do depend on season. Booking process - we need a £95 deposit to take your booking and hold the date for you. After we've found an appropriate site and have your weekend plans confirmed, we'll need a second installment of up to 50% of the cost; and the final balance is needed two weeks before the weekend.
Useful Information
You will need to bring some items with you as the more prepared you are, the greater the experience! All Glampers will need to bring a mattress or something similar to sleep on, a sleeping bag and plenty of bedding. Essentials are blankets, duvets, pillows, etc., warm clothes, comfy walking shoes, wellies, towels, swimwear, dressing gowns, hot water bottles, wet wipes and sun cream. You may also wish to bring along things like face masks, massage oils and other pampering products, musical instruments, candles and lip balm to make the experience even more luxurious. Once you've booked, we'll send you a recommended kit list to make sure you are fully prepared.
