Hen Party Blaze

Posted by Claudia on February 10, 2012.

One Hen Party set the city alight at the weekend when a woman’s costume got set alight.

The lady, 44, was wearing a mock wedding dress made of toilet paper when it caught fire on a tea-light candle in The Portman pub near Marble Arch, London.  She was rushed to hospital by ambulance on Sunday with two other members of the group who suffered from smoke-inhalation.  The bride-to-be managed to escape injury from the fire which spread to the chairs and carpet and was extinguished by a staff member.  The London Fire Brigade were alerted and treated the incident very seriously, sending 3 fire engines with 15 fire fighters from Paddington Fire Station.  They sent out a message expressing the potential danger of candles.  Be careful in your costumes Ladies!
