Baby Showers fit for a PrincessPosted by Hay Brunsdon on October 2 2013.
We have also become obsessed with envisioning the perfect baby shower. From Quilt Making to Cupcake Decorating, here are our top picks for a relaxing afternoon catching up with friends whilst showing off that gorgeous baby bump.
Prediction cards are a great way to get your friends and family chatting, but they also work as a lovely keepsake to add to your baby’s Time Capsule. You could store them away until their first birthday then read back on everyone’s predictions and see if their advice really did prepare you for the first year of parenthood.
Gender Reveal Cakes not only look gorgeous, they also add a fabulously original touch to the festivities. These celebration cakes are absolute show-stoppers and only require different amounts of blue or red food colouring – the colour of the batter will be very similar to the actual cake so be brave and experiment with a few shades.
Ideas for baby shower activities
If you and your friends are looking to celebrate with an activity-led baby shower we can even lay on a Cupcake Decorating class including a Vintage Afternoon Tea – this you will get you perfecting your icing technique for when your tiny tots starts clamouring for sweet treats. And for those collectors of Regal memorabilia, be sure to purchase a few tea cups sporting Will and Kate’s faces on it – ready to raise a toast to their newborn!
Our last pick is a little more craft–based. We think quilt making and baby showers go hand-in-hand, and what better way to prepare than to start making a lovely baby blanket?
Our stitching specialist will bring along their sewing machine, and everyone can enjoy a good old yarn and a slice of home-made cake whilst appliquéing decorations to each square. You can even include any squares of fabric which may have a sentimental value; a patch cut from your favourite childhood dress for example.
